Now Hiring Writers

We are currently looking for freelance writers that are DEPENDABLE, hard-working, and can meet deadlines.

Writers must also be “intuitive.” That is, we should be able to give you a subject, a client, and a keyword, and you can write an informative 250 word article based on that information, with little or no direction. Writers that can accomplish that will be assigned more lucrative assignments.

We are currently hiring writers to perform freelance work as it becomes available.

Please include your name and contact information, plus a 100 word writing sample.

Writers are first assigned a small, one page project. If the writer meets the deadline and other requirements, the will be asked to write more articles in the future.

Average pay per 250 – 350 word article is $8-12. Writers that show proficiency, talent, and a good work ethic are assigned MORE articles at a HIGHER pay rate.

More Jumping on the Content Bandwagon

Time to toot my own horn again, so forgive me. We are doing this to show how far ahead of the curve we were with SEO Copywriting, and to prove that quality content is the number one factor in search engine ranking.

Today I read an article which said: “The bottom line is that while SEO is not dead, it has changed so radically in the past few years that the rules of the game have changed. If you want to win, you need to adjust your approach and start creating compelling content that both the search engine bots and the public want to view.”

Radically changed? We’ve been saying since 2006, that it is integral to write content that attracts both readers AND search engines. It is a simple practice that actually works. The problem is, many people, companies or writers don’t want to invest the time and money into creating a website that is content-rich. They’d prefer to do blackhat seo practices and trick the search engines.

We believe that if a website answers a user’s query, then Google etc. will rank that site well. After all, Google is in the business of answering a user’s questions, so they want the sites that achieve that goal.

Bottom line – content (writing, videos, photos) is the only way to attract search engines. As search engines become more savvy, it is the only underlying SEO/SEM factor that will always stay true.

The Need for Unique Content is Something New?

I am usually not one to toot my own horn, but I woke up today and read one of my favorite sites, SiteProNews, and there was an article about the “new” SEO copywriting methods.

In a nutshell, the authors said what I’ve been saying since 06….the most important thing to do is write clear, concise, quality content that educates the reader.

Keywords will always be necessary, but they should be exposed in your content through natural writing.

In short, websites with duplicate content will be penalized. Your site MUST have content, that is informative, easy-to-read and of course, unique.

On-Page Optimization or Off-Page Optimization?

On-Page Optimization or Off-Page Optimization? Which should you do? Well, when it comes to SEO, you should work on both if you can.

On-Page optimization (optimizing your own site with content and code) is best if you are trying to rank high for long-tail keywords and phrases, such as “Best Real Estate Offers in San Francisco” or the like.

Off-Page optimization (focusing on backlinks) is best if you are working on very popular keywords or short phrases.

Essentially, you should work on both, because Google determines your ranking based on the value of your site to users. They have one goal in mind: “Does this site answer the user’s question or needs?” If your site not only answers the user’s question, but is also considered an authority among other pages (off-page-SEO), then you will rank high.

So once again, the best thing you can do for SEO is increase your on-site content and off-site content (article syndication). And Certified Copywriting offers both of these services.

Don’t Forget About Google Places!

One of the quickest and easiest ways to get your site visible on the net is to use Google Places.

It will highlight your storefront on Google Maps when people type in your business name.

For example, go to Google and type in: lefigaro rock island. Of course, the site I developed for them ranks first ;) but it also shows the Google Places results as number two.

You can achieve those same results by simply registering with Google Places. Its a great way to increase your SEO without spending any money.

Its a really easy way to get your site and business more visibility.
